Meet Nicole + Jensen
As a Queer + womxn-owned business, we are on a mission to have healthy, honest conversations about what it means to be a Queer human, leading by example to celebrate our community and educate our allies. But our deepest desire is to inspire those who may be struggling with their personal identity. We want to show the world there is room to be authentically yourself, whether you’re kicking ass and taking names — or simply existing in your local grocery store’s coffee aisle.
In our Lesbian love story, coffee plays a starring role. It was during our morning coffee walks together that we had our most intimate and genuine conversations, discovering all the things we love most about one another. While swapping stories, we each shared that magical moment of clarity when we knew — beyond a shadow of a doubt — we were actually super Gay.
Laughing together about our respective Gay Awakenings, we realized that this was a conversation we wanted to have with everyone. Educating the majority has to begin somewhere, because living as our true selves is a basic human right! So, we created the company we always wanted to see growing up: one that is loud, proud, and intentionally Queer.
There are so many places where Queer folks are forced to shrink themselves, but this is definitely not one of them. At Gay Awakening, there’s no measuring how much you should share, or how honest you can be. We’re here for all of it. No matter where you are on your journey, our world expands a little bit more when you’re able to exist authentically as yourself. And we want to get to know that incredible self of yours over a cuppa josephine, because who you are is f*cking rad!
